Safety Officer

Clairemont Hilltoppers Little League  seeks to provide the safest environment possible for the players, spectators and volunteers. The board of directors, dedicated to the safe operation of this league, has approved this safety program. The plan is designed to prevent injury and accidents through education and training of volunteers and players, inspection of equipment and facilities on a regular basis, procedures for reporting and tracking accidents and injuries and a process for reviewing safety issues/concerns as they arise.

First Aid

The League requires at least one adult who is CPR/First Aid certified to be in attendance at all games.
All managers and coaches who have not been certified within the last two years plus at least one assigned parent per team,
are required to attend this training.

If you are certified, please submit a copy with your volunteer application:

American BLS provides free CPR training for coaches.
All coaches should take our FREE CPR Course and our Free First Aid Course and learn how to act in the event of a tragic injury.

Accidents can happen both on and off the field.

AED Machine is located in the Snack Shack!

Trained Volunteers

Clairemont Hilltoppers runs entirely on volunteer help. It is the policy of the league to do a background check on all of its volunteers that are in contact with the players or have access to their personal information.

All volunteers are also required to complete the following items:

Background Check: Any individual wishing to volunteer (i.e. snack shacks, team parents, and coach) will be required to submit a volunteer application on our website which can be accessed at clairemonthilltoppers.com

First Aid/CPR:
All coaches and/or managers are required to attend/participate in first aid training, or provide certification prior to first practice.

Diamond Leader Training:
Focused on ensuring children have a positive, well-rounded experience on and off the field, the Little League® Diamond Leader Training Program is a FREE educational resource that provides coaches with an understanding of the impact that mental, social, and emotional well-being has in youth sports through detailed information, interactive scenarios, and a variety of additional resources. https://www.littleleague.org/diamondleader/

Concussion Training:
In keeping with its focus on protecting the health, safety and welfare of children, LLB requires all leagues and teams to comply with all applicable laws and recommends the  review of the information and training materials on concussions which are available free of charge.

Abuse Awareness Training: California’s Assembly Bill 506 (AB506) went into effect on January 1, 2022. This new law sets new requirements for youth serving organizations in three areas: screening, training, and policies.  All volunteers must complete child abuse and neglect reporting training.

Please refer to our volunteer page to access all links for trainings.
