Waivers

Types of Waivers

Waivers are typically sought for the following reasons:

    • Charter Committee / Red Shirt Waiver: (Often for allowing a player to participate in a league outside their residential or school boundaries) Requires a letter from the parent stating the circumstances of the request, a letter from the player’s league releasing the player and a letter from the current league accepting them. These then must be approved by Little League's Charter Committee before the player can participate.  The player is also not eligible for any post season tournament play in that same year.
    •  Regulation II(d) Waivers: Permitting players who have moved, changed schools, or experienced boundary changes to continue playing in their original league.

Parents or players cannot directly submit waiver requests to Little League; all requests must originate from the local league.

No actions contrary to Little League rules may be taken until written waiver approval is received.
